Composition Each tablet contains: Nimesulide 100mg + Serratiopeptidase 10mg. Product Description Nimesulide is a new non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with adequate analgesic and antipyretic effect. The advantage of Nimesulide over other NSAIDs is that it causes minimal gastric irritation. Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme derived from serratia Spp. Mechanism of Action Nimesulide is a relatively weak inhibitor of prostaglandins synthesis but has potent antinflammatory activity. It acts as a inhibitor of histamine release and reduce in vitro superoxide anion formationby activated Neutrophils and thus reduce the formation of cytokine. Serratiopeptidase bind to alpha 2 macroglobulin in the blood in the ratio of 1:1 which helps to mask its antigenicity but retain its enzymatic activity by hydrolysing bradykinin, histamine and serotonin. Serratiopeptidase blocks plasmin inhibition helps clearence of exudate and reduces swelling. Pharmaco Kinetics After oral administration its rapidly and almost completely absorbed . It is highly bound to plasma proteins and extensively metabolised in liver. |
Indications Inflammation after operation and traumatic injury, Breast engorgement,Dental abscess, Fracture, Otitis media, Scleritis. Dosage Twice Daily. Contra Indication Hypersensitivity Special Precautions Impairment of blood clotting mechanism. Severe hepatic (or) renal disease heart failure. Drug Interactions Nimesulide may displace methotrexate from its binding site. Oral bio-availability of trusemide may be reduced. Adverse Effects Occassionally Nausea, GI Disturbance, Vomiting, Skin Rash. Packing A strip of 10 tablets. In a bar 10 x 10 tablets. |
