Retivit-CZ - Carbonyl Iron + Zinc + Folic Acid + Selenium

Product Description
Carbonyl Iron Carbonyl iron is a highly pure (97.5% for grade S, 99.5+% for grade R) iron, prepared by chemical decomposition of purified iron pentacarbonyl.
Folic Acid Folic acid and folate (the anion form) are forms of the water-soluble Vitamin B9.
Selenium Selenium is a chemical element with atomic number 34, with the chemical symbol Se. Selenium occurs only rarely in the free state in nature. It is a nonmetal that is chemically related to sulfur and tellurium. It is toxic in large amounts, but trace amounts of it, forming the active center of certain enzymes, are necessary for the function of all cells in (probably) all animals.

Mechanism of Action
Particles of carbonyl iron (20-40%) suspended in a carrier fluid (60-80%) are used as a magnetorheological fluid. Folic acid is very important for all women who may become pregnant. Some evidence associates low blood levels of folate with a greater risk of cancer. Some evidence links low levels of folate with depression. In humans, selenium is a trace element nutrient which functions as cofactor for reduction of antioxidant enzymes such as glutathione peroxidases and thioredoxin reductase.

Pharmaco Kinetics
When body stores of iron are high, ferric iron combines with apoferritin to form ferritin. Ferritin is the protein of iron storage. About 80% iron in plasma goes to erythroid marrow. The excretion is minimal. Only little amount of iron is lost by exfoliation of intestinal mucosal cells and trace amount is excreted in urine, sweat and bile.
